The Prep school swimming teams have been to a number of galas this term, including the IAPS swimming gala that was held in February. This is always an exciting event as the race times are put through for selection for national finals. Although there were a few nerves floating around it was a lovely atmosphere with lots of cheering and encouragement. Everyone swam very well and should be proud of their performances. We are still waiting to hear whether any of our swimmers have been selected to represent London and the South East at the nationals finals.
We also took part in the Merton Court Gala. We took 8 swimmers across Years 5&6 to compete with 7 other schools. We had lots of excellent results, including Charlotte winning the 50m backstroke race. The girls’ freestyle and relay team also did superbly, coming second in both races. Overall all Colfe’s finished 2nd out of 8 schools: an excellent result. Well done swimmers!
