Colfe’s student through to final of prestigious music competition

A Colfe’s sixth former has got through to the final of the prestigious ‘Norman Trotman Instrumental Competition’.

Andrew Fisher, year 13, who plays trumpet for the Bromley Youth Music Trust (BYMT), is one of the final nine musicians in the competition which takes place on the 28th January.

The contest is highly thought of in the local area and was set up in memory of Norman Trotman, a previous Head of the BYMT.

17 year old Andrew, who is a grade 8 trumpet player, will be performing three pieces including the well known Concierto de Aranjuez  by Rodrigo.  He is looking forward to it:

“I’m not used to solo competitions and I’m extremely nervous as all my friends and family will be there but it should be fun.”

Director of Music Miss Collinson says, “We’re very proud of Andrew who has worked very hard and done exceptionally well to get through to the final of this competition.  The Music Department wishes him the best of luck for the 28th.”
