At Colfe's, we carefully prepare each and every individual to realise their full potential at G.C.S.E. level in a mature and purposeful co-educational environment. Year 11 is organised into five small form groups, each with a specialist form tutor working under the guidance of a Head of Year and the Pastoral Deputy Head. The pupils all take part in a carefully structured programme of active citizenship/PSHEE to make them aware of relevant social issues that affect their generation. They also receive study skills tuition as well as spiritual and moral guidance. They attend targeted weekly assemblies and participate in fund raising events throughout the year.

All of our pupils are actively supported in balancing the increased and demanding workload at G.C.S.E. level with an exciting range of sports and various other extracurricular activities, including Drama, C.C.F. and Debating, all of which help in developing the whole person. Our relaxed and friendly approach to pastoral and extracurricular care inculcates a feeling of happiness and good-will within the year group during one of the most testing times of a child’s life. In an age when universities are paying even closer attention to GCSE grades, we feel justifiably proud of our recent results. Last year, 56% of our G.C.S.E. results were graded A* or A, but we also feel that Colfe’s has a particular strength in maintaining these very high academic standards without losing sight of our principal duty of care in developing each individual pupil’s self-confidence and sense of community.
